Raising wheel bearing assembly to un‐
laden position
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Install gearbox support -T10337-
♦ engine and gearbox jack -VAS 6931-
♦ gearbox support -T10337-
Removal and installation are described for the left side of vehi‐
cle as an example.
NOTICE
Any bolts and nuts on running gear components with bushes
may be tightened only when the respective component is in
unladen position.
– Before tightening axle components with bushes, the re‐
spective component must therefore be brought to a posi‐
tion equivalent to the position when the vehicle is moving
(unladen position).
– By raising the corresponding wheel suspension using the
engine and gearbox jack -VAS 6931- and gearbox support
-T10337-, the unladen position can be simulated on the
lifting platform.
– ⇒ Rep. gr. 42; Secure vehicle to support arms of lifting plat‐
form.
– Remove stone deflector for spring control arm ⇒ Rep. gr. 42;
Removing and installing stone deflector for spring control
arm.
– Install gearbox support -T10337--A- to engine and gearbox
jack -VAS 6931--B-.
– Fit gearbox support -T10337--A- to anti-roll bar -1-.
