♦ accidental contact protection -T10608-
♦ accidental contact protection insert -T10628-
DANGER
Danger to life from high voltage.
Electric shocks or arcs may lead to serious injuries or death.
– Suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) must be
worn for the subsequent work steps.
– The subsequent work steps must be supervised by an
additional specialist with appropriate qualification.

ist can support the HVE as required within the scope of his
or her qualification.
Put on the required protective equipment for the subsequent
work steps:
♦ Arc flash resistant clothing (at least APC 2, at least 318 kJ)
♦ Helmet with arc flash resistant visor (at least APC 2, at least
318 kJ)
♦ Arc flash resistant gloves with nitrile glove liners (at least
APC 2, at least 318 kJ), insulating up to at least 500 V
♦ Safety shoes with ESD protection
The switching unit for high-voltage battery, negative terminal
-SX7- will henceforth be referred to as “switching unit, negative
terminal”.

– Unscrew bolts -3-.
– Remove connecting element -1-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
– Check seal for damage.
– Keep sealing surface free of dust and grease. Clean with
cleaning solution ⇒ Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA).
– Apply sealant all around on outer side of connecting ele‐
ment, next to existing seal. Sealant ⇒ Electronic parts cata‐
logue (ETKA).
– When installing, pay attention to equal tolerance between
connecting element and lower part of battery housing. Seal
must come fully into contact with lower part of battery hous‐
ing.
– After installation of a high-voltage connector, measurements
must be performed to make sure there is no risk of a short-
circuit to the lower part of battery housing.
– Have all torque settings checked by a 2nd mechanic.
