Removing and installing motor control
unit [J623]
Removing
If the motor control unit -J623- is renewed, perform the test plan
for the renewal of the motor control unit:
Continued
– Carry out function “Renew control unit” using ⇒ Vehicle diag‐
nostic tester ⇒ Rep. gr. 00; Access to diagnoses.
– Disconnect battery ⇒ Electrical system; Rep. gr. 27; Battery;
Disconnecting and connecting battery.

– Remove right lower A-pillar trim ⇒ General body repairs,
interior; Rep. gr. 70; Trims, interior; Removing and installing
lower A-pillar trim.
– Separate connectors -2-.
– Release bracket -1--arrow- in direction of passenger com‐
partment, and pull out motor control unit -J623--3-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
If the motor control unit -J623- has been renewed, perform the
test plan for the renewal of the motor control unit:

– Carry out function “Renew control unit” using ⇒ Vehicle diag‐
nostic tester ⇒ Rep. gr. 00; Access to diagnoses.

Removing
– Remove motor control unit -J623- ⇒ Rep. gr. 93; Removing
and installing motor control unit [J623].
– Press together retaining clips in direction of -arrow-.
– Remove bracket for motor control unit -J623--1-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
