Note  
The rear driver side door control unit -J926- / rear passenger  
side door control unit -J927- is separated from the rear driver  
side window regulator motor -V471- / rear passenger side win‐  
dow regulator motor -V472-.  
Note  
The rear driver side window regulator motor -V471- and ear  
passenger side window regulator motor -V472- will henceforth  
be referred to as β€œwindow regulator motor”.  
Removing  
– Remove rear door trim β‡’ General body repairs, interior; Rep.

trim.

NOTICE  
Risk of damage to door window by sliding down.  
The door window may be scratched or partially chipped.  
– Fix door window in position using adhesive tape.  
– Fix door window in position using adhesive tape.  
– Disconnect electrical connector -3-.  
– Unscrew bolts -2-.  
– Remove window regulator motor -1-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Fit window regulator motor -1- on mountings -2- of cable  
drum. Move door window up and down slightly so that the  
splines between window regulator motor -1- and cable drum  
engage more easily.  
– Use β‡’ Vehicle diagnostic tester to code new window regula‐  
tor motors.

Removing and installing striker pin  
Removing  
Removal and installation are described for the left side of vehi‐  
cle as an example.  
Removal and installation is identical for the front and rear striker  
pins.  
– Unscrew bolts -2-.

– Remove striker pin -1-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Fit striker pin -1- with curvature -arrow- facing towards cen‐  
tre of vehicle.  
– Pre-tighten bolts -2- to 2 Nm.  
– Adjust striker pin of front door β‡’ Rep. gr. 57; Adjusting strik‐  
er pin.  
– Adjust striker pin of rear door β‡’ Rep. gr. 58; Adjusting striker  
pin.  
Tightening torques

Removing

– Remove door subframe β‡’ a3.10 nd installing assembly carri‐  
er”, page 123 .  
– Lever off plug -1-.  
– Turn eccentric -2- 180Β° in direction of -arrow-.  
On the right side of the vehicle, the eccentric must be turned  
anti-clockwise.  
– Press and hold rocker switch -2-.  
– Slide sliding plate -1- to stop in direction of -arrow-.  
– Disconnect electrical connector.  
– Swing out door handle -1- in direction of -arrow-, and re‐  
move it.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Perform functional check with the door open.  
– Read and clear event memory using β‡’ Vehicle diagnostic  
tester.

– Detach door lock, and lay it aside with lines connected  
β‡’ Rep. gr. 58; Removing and installing door lock.  
– Remove door handle β‡’ Rep. gr. 58; Removing and installing  
door handle.  
– Guide electrical wire -1- out of guides -2-.  
– Push mounting bracket -3- to stop in direction of -arrow A-,  
and remove it in direction of -arrow B-.  
– Detach Bowden cable -4- in direction of -arrow A-.

– Detach Bowden cable -4- in direction of -arrow B-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal.

– Disconnect electrical connector -1-.  
– Unscrew bolts -2-.  
– Remove door lock -3- in direction of -arrow-.  
Bowden cables can be detached if this is necessary for subse‐  
quent work.  
Releasing Bowden cable to interior door handle:  
– Turn Bowden cable -2- 90Β° in direction of -arrow A-, and  
unclip it in direction of -arrow B-.

– Detach Bowden cable -2- in direction of -arrow C- from eye‐  
let in door lock -1-, and remove Bowden cable.  
Releasing Bowden cable to mounting bracket:  
– Turn Bowden cable -2- 90Β° in direction of -arrow A-, and  
unclip it in direction of -arrow B-.  
– Detach Bowden cable -2- in direction of -arrow C- from eye‐  
let in door lock -1-, and remove Bowden cable.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Perform functional check with door open.  
If the Bowden cables are not engaged correctly, it won’t be  
possible to unlock the door lock and open the door.

Removing

– Lower door window, and detach it from window regulator  
β‡’ Rep. gr. 64; Removing and installing rear door window.  
– Push door window upwards, and secure it with adhesive  
tape.

– Lever off plug -1-.  
– Unscrew bolt -2-  
– Disconnect electrical connectors -3-.  
– Loosen clips -4-, and lay electrical wires aside.  
– Turn clips -1- 90Β° in direction of -arrow A-, and slightly pull  
off assembly carrier -2-.  
– Pull assembly carrier -2- in direction of -arrow B- out of door.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Insert spreader rivet and spreader plug β‡’ Rep. gr. 64; Re‐  
moving and installing rear door window.  
– Insert assembly carrier.

Removing and installing window chan‐  
nel  
NOTICE  
Risk of damage to window channel from applying excessive  
force.  
The metal core of the window channel may be bent.  
– Handle window channel with care.  
Removing  
Removal and installation are described for the left side of vehi‐  
cle as an example.  
– Remove outer window slot seal β‡’ Rep. gr. 58; Removing  
and installing outer window slot seal.  
– Remove B-pillar trim on rear door β‡’ a3.11.2 nd installing  
B-pillar trim on rear door”, page 228 .  
– Remove inner window slot seal β‡’ Rep. gr. 58; Removing  
and installing inner window slot seal.  
– Loosen fixed rear door window β‡’ Rep. gr. 64; Removing and  
installing fixed rear door window.  
– Pull off window channel in area -6- in direction of -arrow B-.  
– Guide out window channel in area -3-.  
– Pull off window channel evenly in areas -3-, -2- and -7- in  
direction of -arrow A- starting at fixed rear door window.  
– Pull off window channel in area -5- in direction of -arrow C-.  
– Pull off window channel in area -4- in direction of -arrow B-.  
– Pull window channel in areas -4- and -5- out of window slot.  
– Pull off window channel in area -2- in direction of -arrow C-,  
and remove it.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Moisten window channel with soapy solution to facilitate in‐  
stallation.

NOTICE  
Uneven seating and fit of the window channel after installa‐  
tion.  
Wind noise is possible.  
– Ensure that item is seated and comes into contact correct‐  
ly when aligning and installing.  
– Push window channel in areas -4- and -5- into window slot.  
– Fit window channel in area -2- in opposite direction of  
-arrow C-.  
– Fit window channel in area -7- in opposite direction of  
-arrow A-, and align it with B-pillar trim on rear door.  
– Starting at top, push on window channel in area -6-.  
– Starting at B-pillar evenly push on window channel in areas  
-2- and -7-.  
– Push on window channel in area -3- at fixed rear door win‐  
dow.  
– Install fixed rear door window β‡’ Rep. gr. 64; Removing and  
installing fixed rear door window.  
– Push on window channel in areas -4- and -5-.

Removing and installing outer window  
slot seal  
Special tools and workshop equipment required  
♦ removal wedge set -VAS 895 015-  
♦ wedge -T10039/1-  
NOTICE  
Risk of damage to window slot seal from applying excessive

– Insert wedge β€œno. 3”-5- from removal wedge set -VAS 895  
015- between outer window slot seal -1- and B-pillar trim on  
rear door -4-.  
– Use wedge -T10039/1--3- to lever off outer window slot seal  
-1- in direction of -arrow A- evenly.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Align outer window slot seal -1- flush with door edge -2-.  
– Starting at door edge -2-, push outer window slot seal -1- in  
direction of -arrow- evenly by hand.

Removing and installing inner window  
slot seal  
Removal and installation are described for the left side of vehi‐

Removing  
– Remove rear door trim β‡’ General body repairs, interior; Rep.  
gr. 70; Rear door trims; Removing and installing rear door

– Lever inner window slot seal -1- in direction of -arrow A-  
evenly off flange -2- without bending or distorting it.

Installing  
– Centre inner window slot seal -1- between front section of  
window channel -4- and rear section of fixed door window  
-3- -arrows A-.  
– Push inner window slot seal -1- in direction of -arrow B- onto  
flange -2- evenly by hand.  
Continue installation in reverse order of removal.
