Removing and installing roof railing
Removing
– Remove moulded headliner ⇒ General body repairs, interior;
Rep. gr. 70; Roof trims; Removing and installing moulded
headliner.
– Unscrew nuts -2-.

– Remove roof railing -1- in direction of -arrow A-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
Important
•
Make sure that the seals make even contact and are not
damaged.
Tightening torques

Removing and installing roof trim strip
Removal and installation are described for the left side of vehi‐
cle as an example.
Removing
– Remove C-pillar trim ⇒ Rep. gr. 66; Removing and installing
C-pillar trim.
– Use commercially available wedge -5- to lever clip -4- in
direction of -arrow- off roof side member -3-.

– Use commercially available wedge -5- to lever roof trim strip
-1- in direction of -arrow- from rear towards front off clips -2-.
Installing
Important
•
If clip -4- on roof trim strip -1- is damaged, the roof trim strip
-1- must be renewed.
– Guide in roof trim strip -1- behind wing -5-.
– Align roof trim strip -1- with roof side member -3-.
– Fit roof trim strip -1- with clip -4- in direction of -arrow A-.
– Starting at -arrow A- up to -arrow C- push on roof trim strip
-1- at clips -2- until they can be heard to engage.
Continue installation in reverse order of removal.
