ing adhesive strip remover -VAS 6349-.
β¦ If a step moulding is removed and reinstalled, use only the
adhesive remover -VAS 6349- to remove the adhesive resiβ

β¦ The step moulding must be bonded in place immediately
after cleaning.

-1- in area of bonding surface -2- prior to removal.
β Carefully insert removal wedge -3409- between side memβ
ber and side member trim -1-.
β As soon as bonded joint is detached, pull side member trim
-1- with clips -4- out of grommets -5- in side member.
Installing
β Observe installation instructions.
β Press side member trim -1- with clips -4- into grommets -5-
on side member.
β Align side member trim -1- longitudinally.
β Tighten bolt -3- at front side of side member.
β Tighten bolts -3- at bottom side of side member.
β Use removal aid to pull protective backing off double-sided
adhesive tape -2- upwards and towards rear.
β Press on side member trim -1- forcefully and evenly in bondβ
ing area.

β Put on safety goggles.
β Drill out rivet heads -arrows- and punch out rivet shanks.
β Remove retaining strip -1-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
The left and right retaining strips are not identical.
Make sure that the correct retaining strip is installed.
β Rivet retaining strip starting at bottom.

β Lower door window completely.
β Remove outer window slot seal β Rep. gr. 57; Removing
and installing outer window slot seal.
β Pull out window channel -3- in area of B-pillar trim on front
door -1- in direction of -arrow A-.
β Unscrew and unclip bolts -2- from spreader rivets.
β Push B-pillar trim on front door -1- in direction of -arrow B-,
and pull it off slightly at top in direction of -arrow C- until the
guide hooks -4- are released from door frame -5-.
β Pull out B-pillar trim on front door -1- in direction of
-arrow D-.

β Use wedge -T10383--2- to unclip clips -4-.
Installing
Important

Make sure that vehicle and C-pillar trim are at room temperβ
ature.
β’
The bonding surfaces must be free of dirt and grease.
β Remove any adhesive residue from vehicle.
β Clean bonding surface on vehicle, and allow it to dry.
β Pull protective backing off adhesive tape at removal aid.
β Guide C-pillar trim -1- in direction of -arrow A- in roof trim
strip -3-.
β Align clips of C-pillar trim -1- on C-pillar -2-.
β Push on C-pillar trim -1- until clips can be heard to engage.

Installing
