11.2
Removing and installing trailer detector
control unit [J345]
The trailer detector control unit -J345- will henceforth be refer‐
red to as “trailer detector control unit”.
If the trailer detector control unit is renewed, perform the test
plan for the renewal of the trailer detector control unit using
⇒ Vehicle diagnostic tester.
Removing
– Remove left luggage compartment side trim ⇒ General body
repairs, interior; Rep. gr. 70; Luggage compartment trims;
Removing and installing luggage compartment side trim.
– Unscrew bolts -2-.

– Remove trailer detector control unit -1-.
– Disconnect electrical connectors -3-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
– If the trailer detector control unit has been renewed, con‐
clude the test plan for the renewal of the trailer detector
control unit using ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic tester.

Removing and installing trailer socket
[U10]
The trailer socket -U10- will henceforth be referred to as “trailer
socket”.
Removing
– Unscrew bolts -1-.
– Remove trailer socket -2- until electrical wires are accessi‐
ble.
NOTICE
Danger of connectors being inserted in incorrect position.
– Refer to the applicable current flow diagram to obtain infor‐
mation on the exact pin assignment.
– Take photographs of the assignment.
– Disconnect electrical wiring.
– Remove trailer socket -2-.
